14 years ago, there was this guy and this girl and they said, “I do.”  It was a sweet ceremony and these two kids were young and in love.  They were also a bit snarky.  The guy would do funny things like this to lighten it up.  🙂

Who are these kids?

It is a known fact that they were totally head over heels for each other, and over the last 14 years they’ve remained head over heels (do they also have twisted backs?) even though a whole bunch of stuff got thrown their way that was very unexpected. Now these two are older.  They may be wiser, but that’s up for debate.  They’re a bit heavier.  Have more stretch marks. We still like to sleep in (or at least one does).  They still have fun, I think.  They’ve had a few kids.  Well more then a few.  They’ve had a few stumbles, but they’ve found their feet.  Or should I say, they’ve been carried by grace?

There’s been a few times they’ve wanted out.  Not out of each other, but out of our circumstances.  Two sinners dealing with life is hard.  Especially when life has thrown curve balls.  Marriage is a commitment.  A commitment through the hard and through the good.  Through the dung and through the fields of flowers.  They’re grateful for both.  They’ve seen His glory.  They’ve seen His mercy and most importantly, they’ve seen His grace.  Abundant grace.

14 years is lookin’ okay on these two.  Here’s to another 100!

“Set me as a seal upon your heart,

as a seal upon your arm,

for love is strong as death,

jealousy is fierce as the grave.

Its flashes are flashes of fire,

the very flame of the LORD.

Many waters cannot quench love,

neither can floods drown it.

If a man offered for love

all the wealth of his house,

he would be utterly despised.”

Song of Solomon 8:6-7
